This is a photograph from last year’s Off the Menu dinner, An Offal Evening at Basi, held at Basi Italia and prepared by chef Johnny Dornback. The guy on the right, Chef Dave MacLennan, is now taking over as Chef de Cuisine at Basi… and he was also selected to be a delegate at this year’s Terra Madre conference in Turin, Italy. He is one of nine central Ohio delegates. Help support our region’s Slow Food delegates by joining us for this amazing dinner at Basi Italia, on October 1st.
Dave and Johnny will be joined by four other chefs including Bill Glover, owner of Sage American Bistro and executive chef of Hilton Downtown’s Gallerie; Erik Till, chef/owner of Commonwealth Sandwich Bar and the forthcoming White Rabbit in the Brewery District; chef/owner Kevin Caskey of Skillet, also joining Dave as one of our central Ohio delegates; and Adam Cobb of Latitude 41.
Each chef has graciously contributed the course which they will be providing in order to raise as much money as possible for Terra Madre. All proceeds will go toward funding our Central Ohio Slow Food Delegates. The dinner will be paired with local spirits and beverage partners, including Middle West Spirits, Brothers Drake Meadery, and Rockmill Brewery, who have also agreed to help support our cause.
The cost of the dinner is $75 per person (tickets available here). There will be a cash bar available after the dinner as well; however, some alcoholic beverages will be provided with dinner.
