The 2014 edition of the international Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto world meeting of food communities, held in Turin, Italy, from October 23-27, will display the extraordinary diversity of food from around the world and unite small-scale farmers and artisans who follow the principles of good, clean and fair.
While Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto are open to the public, each country cultivates and sponsors a delegation that represents the diversity of its good, clean and fair food movement. Delegates are chosen for their ability to represent the breadth of the country’s food traditions and movement success stories as well as their capacity to take the new lessons, ideas and relationships back to the challenges still to be met at home.
The Slow Food USA delegation will also celebrate the immense human and cultural diversity present in the US. Thus farmers and producers of Ark of Taste products, as well as people of color, youth immigrants and native peoples, are especially encouraged to apply.
