For those of you who aren’t already familiar with him, Farmer Lee Jones runs The Chef’s Garden in Huron, Ohio, and is one of the top producers of artisanal vegetables, microgreens, and herbs for chefs worldwide. The Chef’s Garden also runs Veggie U., a 501(c)3 program aimed at helping children make better food choices. The annual fundraiser for Veggie U. is the Veggie U. Food and Wine Celebration, which happens this Saturday, July 17. It’s an amazing event, with chefs from all over the country, for a great cause—we’ve been told that we shouldn’t miss it, so we’ve been planning to go for months.
We’re excited to announce that the Chef’s Garden has been kind enough to offer a discount to Slow Food members and friends who want to attend the Food and Wine Celebration! (If you’re reading this, that includes you.) The normal price of $175 has been discounted to $145—or, as an alternative, if you buy six tickets, you get two for free. You need to call them directly (419-499-7500) and mention this offer to receive the discount.
We’d urge you to consider it, if you’re available—it’s a great event. See you there!
