Slow Food Columbus Welcome

Slow Food Columbus Welcome

Slow Food Columbus is the Columbus, Ohio convivium of Slow Food USA, which itself is the American branch of Slow Food International. In the words of the parent organization, which began in Italy, Slow Food
was founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the
disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling
interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes
and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.
The Columbus Convivium is devoted to these principles and to helping our members “live the slow life.” We sponsor events in which members can savor well-prepared food raised in sustainable ways, and we provide a forum for our members to share knowledge about good food and best practices. In short, as one of our founders put it, we are “a gourmet group with a conscience.”
